Group Leaders Meeting Minutes May 1, 2018

-Welcome from new ED James Thomas. Forward thinking and member business success focused.
-No further news on Canadian progress.
-Comp memberships will end June 1. Reimbursing $30 for chapter dues will continue.
-Member dues increase to $449
-Multi inspector firm owners discount may be terminated. Not enough participation from new multi inspector firms to make it profitable.
-Interviewing TAS director candidates continues.
-Alternate director, motion passes to appoint Sean Troxell.
-Motion for the Speaker to be able to present motions passed.
-Motions to have board book distributed to GLs did not pass. Concerns about confidentiality were raised. However the future Directors should be informed about proposals, programs, and processes. Rewriting this proposal to allow for redactions is to be done to bring it back to the board at the July meeting.
-Motion for realignment of the south passed.
-Canadian stand alone group proposal is on hold.
-Budget Committee: Funding for the mid year CoR meeting. Meal has been approved, we need to decide if we want to provide rooms and meals for 9 CoR members to arrive early from the west coast. Add this to the budget proposal. Tim and Scott will support this.
-Officers and Directors committees have been established. Director search needs to begin.
-LDC-No Report, Main Topic ”So I am on the Counsel, now what?”
-Communications. Videos 1. Get to know the Cor, 2. CoR purpose & Structure, 3. Communication Loop, 4. Leadership Development. Need volunteers to do these videos. Send interested parties to Bill Oelrich.
-Help Bill with content for regular videos.
-How should we approach the maintenance of chapter rosters as time goes on.
-Chapter membership data is now considered ASHI Intellectual Property, however Chapters may still use this data as they see fit.
-There is still no determination about the use of Chapter Office in regard to the issue of Intellectual Property.
